Papua & Niugini Union Pati (PANGU)
Current: Re-elected to the 10th National Parliament as the member for Tari-Pori Open Electorate seat in the 2017 General Elections as a People's National Congress Party candidate. Joined the PANGU Pati in mid- May 2019 and announced to lead the PANGU Pati. Elected the Prime Minister on 30/05/19. He scored 101 votes against Sir Mekere Morauta with only 8 votes. He is the 8th Prime Minister for the Independent State of Papua New Guinea, 3rd Term in this Parliament.
Past: First Elected to the 8th National Parliament for the Tari Open Electorate in the 2007 General Elections as an National Alliance Party candidate. Appointed as the Parliamentary Secretary for Works and Transport on the 29/08/2007. Given added responsibilities as Privileges Committee-Deputy Chair and member of Parliamentary Referral Committee on Inter-Government Relations on the 18/09/2007. Appointed Minister for Education on the 16/12/2008 till 2/8/2011. Moved from National Alliance Party to join People's National Congress ranks in February 2012. Re-elected to the 9th National Parliament for the same seat in the 2012 General Elections as People's National Congress candidate. Appointed Minister for Finance and Leader of Government Business following the formation of the O'Neill-Abel cabinet from August 2017-April 2019. Resigned as the Minister for Finance and from the O'Neill-Abel cabinet on 11/04/2019. He also resigned from the People's National Congress Party on 29th April 2019.

Primary Education: Completed his Primary Education from Minj Primary School, Jiwaka
Secondary Education: Completed his Secondary Education from Kabiufa Adventist Secondary School, Eastern Highlands Province
Tertiary Education: Completed Tertiary Education from the University of Papua New Guinea in 1993, and again in 2000.
Achievements: Earned a Bachelor in Arts Degree in 1993, a Post Graduate Honours Degree in Environmental Science in 2000 and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Papua New Guinea. Developments brought into the Hela Province; such as roads and infrastructures, electricity, bank, New Hela Technical High School and many more.

Last Occupation Prior to Elections: Appointed Acting Assistant Secretary of Policy with the Department of Personnel Management (2001-2006)
