Current: Re-elected to the 10th National Parliament for the Gumine Open seat as a People's National Congress Candidate in the 2017 General Elections. Currently affiliated with the PANGU Pati, 3rd term in this Parliament.
Past: First elected to the 7th National Parliament in the 2002 General Elections for the Gumine Open seat as an Independent Candidate then joined the People's National Congress. Commissioned Minister for Culture and Tourism in the Somare/Marat cabinet on the 2/8/2003 till 18/5/2004, and again on the 19/1/2007. Re-elected to the 9th National Parliament for the same seat as a People's National Congress Party member. Declared duly elected in November 2013 following recount of votes. Appointed Minister for Education in the O'Neill-Dion government on 24/2/2014. Appointed Minister for Education in the O'Neill-Abel Government from August 2017-May 2019. Served as Minister for Higher Education, Research, Science & Technology from 07/06/2019-16/11/2020.
Tertiary Education: Completed Tertiary Education from the University of Western Sydney, Australia
Achievements: Holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Environmental Management) with Honors from the University of Western Sydney, Australia.
Last Occupation Prior to Elections: Employed by the National Capital District Commission for 19 years as the Deputy City Manager of NCD
